About Kalinka Consulting
With a solid foundation in Nanoscience, I’ve navigated the dynamic landscapes of academia, earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in this captivating field. Nanoscience’s interdisciplinary nature has provided me with a broad and comprehensive understanding of the natural sciences.
My academic journey took a turn when I decided to decline the PhD position I was offered, because I realized that my true passion lay elsewhere. Instead, I have spent several years working on the administrative side of science, where I have been involved in managing a broad array of research projects. Seeking to enhance my expertise, I pursued further education in project management and completed the IPMA Project Manager Education, where I mastered industry-standard tools.
Working closely with PhD students, postdocs, and Principal Investigators, I gained deep insights into the academic system. By implementing the project management tools I had learned, I saw firsthand the positive impact structured project management could have on research groups. This experience inspired me to establish Kalinka Consulting.
My mission
At Kalinka Consulting, my mission is to transform the academic research environment into a structured and supportive space where both students and PIs can thrive. Having experienced firsthand the often unstructured and sometimes even chaotic nature of academic settings, I understand the immense pressure faced by all members of a research group.
I aim to bridge the gap between the demands of an intense research schedule and the need for a well-organized working environment by introducing industry-standard project management tools into academic research projects. Through tailored support packages, I am dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and success rate of research projects while building a healthy and productive atmosphere for everyone involved.
By applying the tools from my workshops and courses, you’ll be able to work with greater structure and efficiency – freeing up time and mental space to focus on innovation and discovery, without the burden of disorganization.
